WHO NEEDS TO APPLY FOR TURKEY VISA?

Foreign travelers who wish to travel to Turkey must either apply for a visa or an electronic travel authorization.

To get a visa to Turkey citizens of many countries must visit an embassy or consulate.  To apply for the Turkey e-Visa, however, the traveler can simply complete the online form which only takes a few minutes.  Applicants should keep in mind that the system can take 24 hours to process their Turkish e-Visa applications.

What is an e-visa Turkey? 

This is an official travel authorisation from the Turkish government to enter the country through land, sea or air. When this website mentions the visa for Turkey, it always refers to the electronic variant known as the “e-visa Turkey”. You can apply for this travel permit entirely online, and after it has been granted it will be sent to you by e-mail (example e-visa). You can submit an application for yourself, for somebody else or for an entire travel party at once.

Who can enter in Turkey?

Anyone can travel to Turkey, though some are subject to restrictions. Those who have been in Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal or Sri Lanka in the 14 days prior to travel will be quarantined for 14 days on arrival.

Passengers from Afghanistan and Pakistan are subject to a 10-day quarantine, while arrivals from the UK, Egypt, Iran and Singapore must undergo mandatory testing before entering the country. What papers are required to travel to Turkey?

Overseas visitors need to have their travel documents ready for inspection by immigration officials at the border. Required papers include:

Nationalities that do not meet Turkey eVisa requirements

Nationalities that do not meet Turkey eVisa, Passport holders from these countries cannot apply for a Turkey visa online. As they do not meet the Turkey eVisa eligibility requirements, they must apply for a traditional visa through a diplomatic mission, They may only enter with a conventional sticker visa, which individuals can only obtain at a Turkish embassy. What are the restrictions to entry in Turkey?

All arrivals must submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure unless they have a certificate showing they were vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival. Visitors from some countries may also be able show proof of a negative rapid antigen test.

In order to travel to Turkey you need a valid passport, which also has to meet the Turkey visa requirements. Travellers from certain countries can also travel to Turkey with their identity card (ID card). Depending on your nationality, you might be exempt from requiring a visa for Turkey altogether.

Passengers will not be required to quarantine or submit a negative PCR test result if they submit a document issued by the relevant country’s official authorities stating that they have been vaccinated at least 14 days before entrance to Turkey and/or have had the disease and were cured within the last 6 months.Mar 4, 2022

U.S. citizens do typically need an e-visa to enter Turkey, but cruise ship passengers are permitted to come ashore without a visa for day visits by special arrangements. In short, you may visit Turkey on the day trip from your cruise ship without being in possession of your passport.
Ordinary and service passport holders are required to have visa to enter Türkiye. Ordinary and service passport holders with a valid Schengen members or USA, UK, Ireland visa or residence permit, provided that certain conditions are fulfilled, may obtain 30-day single-entry e-visas via the website www.evisa.gov.tr.
 

Follow the rules and avoid fines, deportation or a ban. The Turkey visa is valid for 180 days. This validity period starts on the date of arrival, as indicated in the online application form. During these 180 days, you are allowed to stay in Turkey for a maximum of 90 days. These can be consecutive, or split up in separate parts. Example: you fill in the application form for the e-visa Turkey on 1 February. In it, you indicate that the visa has to be valid starting 1 March. The visa will then be valid for 180 days starting on that date, until 28 August. Between 1 March and 28 August, you can stay in Turkey for a maximum of 90 days. This can take the form of one stay of 90 consecutive days. But it can also take the form of three separate trips to Turkey, staying in the country for 30 days each time. You can make an unlimited number of trips to Turkey, as long as the maximum stay does not exceed 90 days, and they all fall under the overall visa validity period of 180 days.
